It does most of what eeepc-acpi-utilities does but also supports changing the speed of the FSB rather than scaling simply the CPU. It takes a bit of tweaking to make it work on the 1000HE, basically install it and edit /etc/eee-control.conf, copy the section for the 1000H but rename it 1000HE and start the service and panel applet.
If everything looks fine in the BIOS, you may want to insert Windows installation or recovery media and run the Startup Repair operation. This will attempt to make Windows bootable again. For example, if something overwrote your Windows drive's boot sector, this will repair the boot sector. 3. CD. Another post on Google says to 'Under the Boot Sequence section, disable the Boot Booster' for Asus Eee PC. The ESC key should then bring up the boot menu (it also mentions holding the ESC key while powering on). 900 XP Model: Somehow the BIOS does not find the 900.ROM image on my Eee PC 900. 900 Linux Model: The BIOS update program looks for a file named "900.ROM", since the 1006 revision of the BIOS for the "900 Linux" model is shipped with a filename of "900-ASUS-1006.ROM", one has to rename the file to "900.ROM".

I have tried the usual solutions. They failed, but I can deduce that: The battery can indeed charge while the computer is shut down if reinserted, indicated by the percentage rising between sessions. So the battery and charger themselves are working fine. If I disable the MS ACPI driver (as usually suggested) while the battery is not inserted
